Nebraska libero Lexi Rodriguez was named the AVCA National Freshman of the Year today.

Rodriguez is the first libero in AVCA history to earn the annual award.  She’s just the second volleyball player in NU history to earn the honor, joining Sarah Pavan who won it in 2004.

Earlier this week, Rodriguez was tabbed a first-team AVCA All-American.  Her freshman campaign has seen her average 4.41 digs and 1.11 assists per set.
