Matt Rhule said he wants all of college football to respect the way Nebraska plays the game.
In fact, the first-year head coach, speaking at Big Ten Media Days yesterday in Indianapolis added: “There was a time when Nebraska football was feared, and we certainly want to get back to that.”
NU broadcaster Greg Sharpe asked Rhule if the lure of the Big Ten factored into his decision to come to Lincoln. “I wanted to be in the Big Ten,” Rhule said. “I think the Big Ten is the future of college football.”
Rhule also told the media he feels “blessed that Coach Osborne has been willing to share some things with me.”
Asked about renewing the rivalry with Colorado in Boulder on September 9th, Rhule said he’s excited for it.
