Rhule Says Illinois’ Offense is Balanced, Can Make Big Plays

It would appear that Illinois will give Nebraska’s football team its toughest test of the season so far.

Both teams are 3-0 going into Friday night’s game in Lincoln.  The Huskers are ranked 22nd, while the Illini are No. 24 in the AP Top 25.

NU head coach Matt Rhule knows that Illinois has a balanced offense that can make big plays.  “You look at their offense and their big, powerful running game with a mobile quarterback and mobile quarterbacks have bothered us,” Rhule said.

On defense, Illinois has produced nine takeaways and a +8 turnover margin, which ranks second in the nation.  Coach Bret Bielema’s D allows just 8.7 points and 277.3 yards per game.

Friday’s kickoff is at 7 p.m. with the pregame starting at 3 on News Talk 900 KJSK.  It will be joined at 6:30 on 93.5 The Hawk.
