Rhule Praises Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders as “an Elite Competitor”
Saturday’s football game between former Big 12 rivals Nebraska and Colorado may be seen by some as a battle between the two teams’ second-year head coaches.
But, when meeting the media yesterday the Huskers’ Matt Rhule didn’t seem to be thinking much about Deion Sanders. The focus was more on the Buffs quarterback, Deion’s son Shedeur Sanders. Rhule said he’s “got a big-time arm” and pointed out other strengths. “He’s got a great feel for the pocket, he moves in the pocket. He can hurt you with his feet but he slides in the pocket to find guys that are open,” Rhule said. “He’s got excellent weapons around him, he ran the ball well this past game, and he’s courageous and tough. He’s an elite competitor.”
Also on Monday, Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. He threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns in his first career start last Saturday, leading the Huskers to a 40-7 win over UTEP.
NU’s home game against Colorado has a 6:30 p.m. kickoff Saturday. The pregame starts at 2:30 p.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK. It will be joined at 6 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
