Rhule: Onus on Next AD and Coaches is to Keep Moving Forward

Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule spent about the first 20 minutes of his pre-spring football news conference yesterday talking about the surprise departure of athletic director Trev Alberts.

Rhule said he doesn’t know why Alberts left Lincoln for Texas A&M, but added that Alberts left NU better than it was.  He said the onus now is on the next AD and himself and other coaches to keep moving forward.

Rhule is entering his second year of an eight-year, $74 million contract.  He said he and his wife, Julie are “not going anywhere unless you guys kick us out.”

As far as his football team, Rhule said of the Huskers two freshman quarterbacks, Dylan Raiola and Danny Kaelin, “they’re both winners.”
