Rhule Not Sure If Sims Will Play Saturday, Haarberg is Confident

Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule said yesterday that quarterback Jeff Sims is progressing from an ankle injury, but he’s not sure if he’ll be able to play tomorrow.
The Huskers play their home opener against Northern Illinois, a team NU lost to in 2017. Rhule was asked what he thought about the performance of backup quarterback Heinrich Haarberg.
“I like the way he took the field last week,” Rhule said. “He went out there excited to play and ready to go. I think all week (in practice) he has been confident.”
Saturday’s kickoff is set for 6 p.m. The pregame starts at 2 on News Talk 900 KJSK. It will be joined at 5:30 on 93.5 The Hawk.
