Rhule Nets 39 Scholarship Players in First Recruiting Class

It was national signing day yesterday and while Nebraska didn’t announce any last-day commitments, the Huskers wound up with 39 scholarship players in their 2023 recruiting class.

That included 28 players from high schools or junior colleges and eleven who transferred to NU.

Coach Matt Rhule said Nebraska should always recruit well.  “We will always probably appeal to a certain mindset,” Rhule added.  “It has to be someone who really likes football.  It has to be someone who also wants to go to school.  It has to be someone that wants to be developed on and off the field.  It has to be someone who likes to work.”

The recruiting effort by Nebraska’s new coaching staff produced a consensus top 30 high school class.
