Rhule: Mistakes Were Made in Saturday’s Scrimmage by Young Players

Following Saturday’s practice and scrimmage, Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule said there were mistakes made by his offense and a lot of them were made by the Huskers young players.

“Coach (Joe) Paterno used to always say, you lose a game for every true freshman you started.  Well, we’re playing a lot of true freshman,” Rhule said.  “The weapons are there, they’re just in the maturing process, mentally as much as physically.”

Of his quarterbacks and running backs play, Rhule said there were a couple turnovers, adding while he was happy with the quarterbacks play, “it’s not the level it’s gonna be.”  He said he likes NU’s whole group of running backs and specifically mentioned Emmett Johnson as having a really good fall camp.
