Rhule: Haarberg May Be Used at Other Positions Besides QB
The Nebraska football team enters its final week of preparing to face UTEP in its season opener Saturday coming off what Matt Rhule called “a great week” of practice last week.
While Dylan Raiola was named the Huskers starting quarterback last week, Rhule said Friday he feels confident in any of NU’s quarterbacks to lead the team. And he said he won’t be afraid to use Heinrich Haarberg at other positions.
“Heinrich to me could be a great safety, probably he’d be a great linebacker…tailback, wide out, tight end,” Rhule said. “And so we have the opportunity to use him when needed. At the same time I don’t want to lose my number two quarterback…so there’s a fine line there. But we’re not going to play this year out of fear…we made a decision this year that we’re going to attack.”
Saturday’s kickoff at Memorial Stadium is set for 2:30 p.m. The pregame starts at 10:30 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK. It will be joined at 2 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
