Rhule Calls Raiola a “Special Talent” on First Weekly Radio Show
Nebraska announced on social media yesterday that the five-star freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola will get the start against UTEP in the August 31st season opener.
In his first weekly coaches show of the season last night on News Talk 900 KJSK, head coach Matt Rhule was asked what earned Raiola the job.
“I think Dylan is a special talent,” Rhule said. “He’s got a great arm, he’s worked really hard at his timing with his feet, he’s protected the ball and he’s aggressive in the right ways, so we’re excited to see him play. He’s still a rookie, there’s a lot of things he has to learn, but I think each day he’ll be a little bit better than the last day.”
On Wednesday, the Huskers began practicing specifically for things they expect to see from UTEP. The season and home opener on August 31st has a 2:30 p.m. kickoff. The pregame begins at 10:30 a.m. on KJSK. It will be joined at 2 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
