Columbus High competed against some of the top teams in the state in yesterday’s HAC track meet in Grand Island.

The Discoverers girls finished seventh in the 12-team field, which was won by Fremont.  The CHS girls collected eight medals in individual events and four more in relays.  Josie Garrett set a personal-best time to earn third place in the 100-meter hurdles and she was part of the 4×100 relay team that took second.

The Columbus boys were 11th out of 12 teams.  The boys’ top performance came in the pole vault from Carsen Marking, who cleared a personal best to claim the third place medal.
