Reports: NU Could Host Large Hoops Tourney in Lincoln

A report says the University of Nebraska plans to be part of a men’s basketball tournament in Lincoln that could include as many as 16 teams. 

The Omaha World-Herald says two sources say the tourney is being planned for late November or early December.  Word of the proposed tournament was first reported by CBS Sports. 

The first day that college basketball teams can begin playing this season is November 25th. 

The proposal depends on the Big Ten allowing for conference teams to play non-conference games, which has not been decided.
