Report: NU Looks to Add Home Football Game Sept. 4

Less than a week after Nebraska football created a short-lived controversy when it came to light the program was exploring getting out of playing Oklahoma in September, a report today says the Huskers are now exploring whether a home game can be added on September 4th.

The Omaha World-Herald story says athletic director Bill Moos is hoping to add a non-conference game in Lincoln on that date, which was originally scheduled as a home date against Northern Illinois.

The report  says the lack of early home games on NU’s 2021 schedule was one of the reasons Nebraska considered getting out of its contest against Oklahoma.

The newspaper adds that Moos reiterated the Huskers commitment to facing the Sooners this fall, 50 years after the Game of the Century.
