A newspaper report says former Nebraska football player Keven Lightner is battling COVID-19 in a Lincoln hospital.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports that the 55-year old Lightner has been hospitalized since July 28th and has been on a ventilator.

Lightner’s ex-wife, Erin, told the newspaper it’s one of the most severe cases of COVID-19 Keven’s nurses have seen.  Although he is on life support, she says his fever is down.

Lightner was a first-team All-Big Eight offensive tackle for the Huskers in 1987.
