Reds Post Third Straight Shutout, Seniors Shaded Again
The Owens Wealth Advisors Lakeview Junior Reds pitching staff notched its third consecutive shutout last night.
Jordan Kracl and Kolby Blaser combined on a one-hitter in a 9-0 victory at Battle Creek. Kracl started and allowed the only hit and one walk in two-and-two-thirds innings, striking out four. Blaser finished with three-and-a-third hitless innings, walking one and fanning five.
At the plate, Blaser went 3-for-4 with one RBI and two runs. Kracl and Eli Osten had two hits and two RBI apiece to help the Junior Reds stay unbeaten at 8-0. The Reds have won their last three games by a combined score of 31-0.
Meantime, the Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors dropped their second one-run decision in as many nights.
Lakeview scored two runs in the top of the sixth at Battle Creek to take an 8-7 lead, but the home club tallied twice in the bottom of the frame and won 9-8.
Cameron Drozd went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run, Haustyn Forney had two hits and scored three runs, and Layne Forney drove in three runs and had two stolen bases. But, Lakeview’s Seniors fell to 4-5.
Both Lakeview clubs play at West Point tomorrow.
