Recap of State Dual Wrestling Meet, GICC Invite

The boys wrestling teams from Columbus High and Lakeview both went 0-2, while Aquinas won a title at the state dual meet Saturday in Kearney.
In Class A, the Discoverers were downed by Grand Island 45-31 in the quarterfinals, then were defeated by Lincoln East 41-25 in a consolation match. The Vikings dropped their opening match in Class B to Waverly, 46-21 and bowed to Broken Bow 43-21. The top-ranked Monarchs won their second straight Class C dual title. Aquinas beat rival David City 55-15, defeated St. Paul 50-18 and topped Battle Creek 48-18 in the first place match.
Meanwhile, Scotus finished eighth out of 12 teams in the Crusader Invitational at GICC. Central City won the event.
