Raiola a Semifinalist for Freshman Award, Bullock on a Watch List
Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is one of 14 semifinalists for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award.
In its seventh season, the award is presented annually by the Maxwell Football Club to the outstanding freshman in college football.
Raiola has started all nine games for the Huskers as a true freshman. He has passed for 1,921 yards and 10 touchdowns while completing 64.7 percent of his throws. Raiola leads all true freshmen with over 213 passing yards per game and ranks second in completion percentage and passing touchdowns.
Meanwhile, NU senior linebacker John Bullock has been named to the Burlsworth Trophy watch list. It’s given to the most outstanding football player who began his career as a walk-on.
In nine games as a starter, Bullock has made 49 tackles, including six tackles for loss, adding three sacks and an interception which he returned for a touchdown.
