Raiders Edged in Opening Round of National Basketball Tourney

The 15th-seeded CCC men’s basketball team had a 34-32 lead at halftime, but fell to second-seeded Niagara County CC 72-70 in yesterday’s opening round of the NJCAA Division II national tournament.
CCC’s Trey Deveaux scored a game-high 20 points and PJ Davis added 18 points off the bench. The loss dropped the Raiders to 22-10 and into the consolation round of the tourney.
Central will face Mott CC tomorrow at 11 a.m. in Danville, Illinois.
