PWG Falls in Extra-Inning Slugfest at Junior Legion State Tourney

Palmer-Wohlbach-Greeley lost a slugfest against DCB last night in the Class C Junior Legion state tournament.  PWG was eliminated from the tournament after suffering a 14-11 defeat in eight innings. 

The game was tied at 10-all after seven innings.  DCB scored four runs in the top of the eighth, while PWG managed only one run in their last at-bat.  The Blue Ducks went 1-2 in the state tourney.

In the A6 Junior area tournament championship at Pawnee Park, Fremont routed Norfolk 15-0 in five innings to force a second game.  Norfolk bounced back for a 3-2 victory to win the area title after going 4-1 in the tourney. 

In the A6 senior tournament at South Sioux City, Fremont needed to beat Lincoln Northeast twice and they did so convincingly, winning by scores of 10-1 and 9-1 to advance to state.
