In prep volleyball last night, Scotus lost its season and home opener to Kearney Catholic.

The Shamrocks went point-for-point with the fifth-ranked team in C1 for the first two sets, but the Stars pulled away to win 3-1.  The scores were 25-23, 25-27, 25-21, 25-16.  Scotus plays in a four-team round robin tomorrow at Plainview.

Meanwhile, Columbus High volleyball lost its season opener at Fremont last night.  The Tigers downed the Discoverers in four sets, winning 25-23, 25-20, 27-29, 25-14.  Columbus will play in tomorrow’s Norfolk Invitational.
