Prep Softball: CHS Suspended, Lakeview Posts Walkoff Win

It was Opening Day in high school softball Thursday, but Mother Nature was the winner in the scheduled doubleheader between Columbus High and Lincoln North Star.
The Discoverers were trailing the Navigators 2-0 in the top of the third inning of the opener when the night’s action was postponed due to lightning. No make-up date has been announced.
Lakeview survived a wild seventh inning to beat Grand Island Central Catholic 10-8. GICC scored five runs in the top of the seventh to take an 8-7 lead. But, Lakeview won it with three runs in their final at bat.
The Vikings’ offense was led by Hannah Allen, who was 2-for-4 including a walk-off home run and four RBI. Morgan Finecy went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBI.
