Prep Football This Week Includes City Rivalry Game, Playoffs
The prep football schedule for this week features a big rivalry game between two city schools and the opening round of the playoffs in 8-man football.
The rivalry pits Lakeview against Scotus Friday night at Memorial Stadium. Columbus High will wrap up its season with its fourth Thursday night game of the year at Lincoln North Star.
Also on Thursday, the 8-man playoffs get underway. In Class D1, Clarkson-Leigh meets Wisner-Pilger in Leigh, Cross County entertains Weeping Water, Shelby-Rising City visits Thayer Central, Nebraska Christian hosts Alma and Riverside plays Maxwell in Spalding.
In D2 action, Fullerton visits Osceola, Humphrey St. Francis hosts Falls City Sacred Heart, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family is at Bloomfield, Howells-Dodge plays Creighton in Howells and Central Valley hosts St. Mary’s.
