Prep Football Quarterfinals: Lakeview Falls, Area Scores

In prep football quarterfinals on Friday night, Lakeview rallied too late to overcome a 26-0 deficit early in the fourth quarter at Pierce.  The Bluejays hung on for a 33-23 win over the Vikings in a rematch of last year’s C1 championship.

Lakeview ended its season with an 8-3 record, while Pierce improved to 11-0 and will host Adams Central in next Friday’s semifinals.

Boone Central rolled to a 41-15 victory at Ashland-Greenwood.  The Cardinals are 9-2 and will visit Aurora in the other C1 semifinal.

In D1 action, Clarkson/Leigh was all smiles after a 46-18 win at Weeping Water.  The Patriots will take a 10-1 record into a semifinal game at Stanton next Friday.  Nebraska Christian lost to visiting Stanton 52-24 last night, ending the Eagles season at 8-3.  Riverside finished at 9-2 after a 40-28 home loss to Neligh-Oakdale.

Howells-Dodge showed again why the Jaguars are the No. 1 seed in D2, posting a 58-8 home romp over Dundy County Stratton.  The Jags are 11-0 and will host a 10-1 Central Valley club in the semifinals.  The Cougars advanced by beating BDS 42-20 in Wohlbach.
