Patriots, Cougars Bow Out of Girls C2 State Tournament

Two area girls basketball teams bowed out of the C2 state tournament in today’s quarterfinals. 

Clarkson/Leigh fell to fellow East Husker foe Pender 56-37.  The Patriots wound up with a 20-7 record.  And Cross County was defeated by No. 1 seed Crofton 49-27.  The Cougars’ season ended at 22-5. 

Still alive in Class C1 is three-time defending state champion North Bend Central.  The Tigers face Malcolm in tomorrow’s semifinals at 9 a.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
