Palmer To Start at Receiver For South in Shrine Bowl
Tyler Palmer played quarterback and safety for Scotus last season, after beginning his prep career as a wingback. But, the 2020 graduate will be a starting wide receiver for the South Team in tomorrow’s Shrine Bowl at Kearney.
South head coach Ryan Thompson of Ashland-Greenwood, who was a 1998 St. Edward grad, will also utilize Palmer’s speed as a kickoff returner.
Palmer is joined on the South squad by running back Keaton Van Housen of High Plains Community and cornerback Michael Rutherford of Central City.
The South roster also includes three Nebraska walk-ons: starting tight end Nate Boerkircher of Aurora, Beatrice offensive lineman Bladen Bayless and linebacker Braden Klover of Southern.
You can hear play-by-play of tomorrow’s Shrine Bowl on KZ-100 and at mycentralnebraska.com. Kickoff at UNK’s Cope Stadium is set for 2 p.m.
