Palmer Leaving Huskers to Play in the NFL

Nebraska wide receiver Trey Palmer will not play for the Huskers next season.  The junior from Louisiana announced today via Twitter that he’ll declare for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Palmer had 165 receiving yards and scored two touchdowns in NU’s 24-17 win at Iowa on Friday.  With that performance, he broke Nebraska’s single-season record with 1,043 receiving yards.

In his Twitter post, which came shortly after Matt Rhule was announced as the Huskers’ next head coach, Palmer thanked – among others – Scott Frost, Mickey Joseph, Husker fans and his former school, LSU.
