Only Two Big Ten Clubs Make 64-Team NCAA Baseball Tourney

Tennessee is the No. 1 overall seed, while the Big Ten only had two teams make the 64-team field for the NCAA baseball tournament. 

The Big Ten’s regular season champion Maryland was joined by conference tournament champion Michigan when the tournament field was announced Monday.  It’s the first time in eight years only two Big Ten teams have made it.  Meanwhile, Tennessee is one of nine SEC teams in the tourney. 

Play in the 16 regionals begins Friday.  Winners advance to eight best-of-three super regionals.  Those winners go to the College World Series.
