One Person Transported After Accident At Highway 81/91 Intersection

HUMPHREY- On Monday at 12:55 p.m., the Platte County Sheriff’s Office responded to two-vehicle accident at the intersection of highways 81 and 91.

The investigation revealed that a semi pulling a flatbed trailer, driven by 39-year-old Leszek Wrzala from Canada, had been traveling southbound on Highway 81. A van driven by 47-year-old Scott Strella from Kansas, was traveling westbound on Highway 91. As the truck driven by Strella attempted to cross westbound over Highway, the southbound truck driven by Wrzala drove into the passenger side of the Strella vehicle. Wrzala was transported to Columbus Community Hospital with minor injuries. Strella did not have any apparent injuries, and was not transported.

Both drivers were wearing Seatbelts at the time of the collision.
