NU’s Markowski, CU’s King Earn Weekly Honors

In college basketball, Nebraska’s Alexis Markowski earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors today.

Markowski scored 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had three blocks yesterday as the Nebraska women beat Wyoming 66-39 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Also today, Creighton’s Frederick King was named Big East Freshman of the Week after posting a pair of double-doubles last week.  King averaged 16 points, 10.5 rebounds and four blocked shots in the Bluejays’ losses to Arizona State and Marquette.

He became CU’s first freshman with consecutive double-doubles since Doug McDermott in 2011.
