NU Women’s Hoops No. 22 in AP Poll, Right Behind CU

The Nebraska women’s basketball club will start the season ranked No. 22 by the Associated Press, one spot behind Creighton. 

The AP announced its preseason Top 25 today.  It’s Nebraska’s first appearance in the preseason poll since 2014. 

Also today, Husker guard Jaz Shelley was named as one of 20 candidates nationally on the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list.  It honors the top shooting guard each year.  

Besides being ranked 21st by the AP, Creighton’s women were picked to finish second to UConn by Big East coaches today.  A pair of CU juniors – forward Emma Ronsiek and guard Lauren Jensen – were named to the Preseason All-Big East Team.
