NU Volleyball Opens Season With 3-1 Victory Over Kentucky

Nebraska volleyball opened its season with an impressive win last night. 

The No. 2 Huskers defeated No. 9 Kentucky 3-1 in Louisville.  Scores were 25-21, 22-25, 25-15, 25-20. 

The Huskers posted 18 blocks, their most since 2018 and held the Wildcats to a .139 hitting percentage.  Rebakah Allick led the charge with 11 kills and 12 blocks.  Merritt Beason finished with 11 kills, eight digs and six blocks for the Big Red. 

Nebraska will host the Ameritas Players Challenge this weekend at the Devaney Sports Center.  NU faces Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday at 7 p.m.  The pregame starts at 6 on News Talk 900 KJSK.
