NU Volleyball Not Using Two-a-Day Practices This Preseason
Nebraska head volleyball coach John Cook talked to reporters yesterday about his team’s preseason camp.
Cook was asked how he’s taking advantage of extra practice days all teams are getting this year. He replied instead of having two-a-day practices, the Huskers are lifting weights each morning, then having one practice in the afternoon.
“It’s almost like they go through a recovery every morning,” Cook said. “We’re getting great effort and high level of play in the afternoons because they’re fresh, they’re feeling good. Sometimes in two-a-days, you’re struggling to get through those and they (would be) hitting the wall.”
Nebraska’s Red-White Scrimmage is Saturday, August 24th. First serve is set for 6 p.m. at the Devaney Sports Center. NU opens the regular season on Tuesday, August 27th against Kentucky in Louisville.
