NU Secondary is “Beat Up,” UCLA’s West Coast Offense is Coming

Nebraska’s football team takes on UCLA tomorrow needing a win at home to secure a bowl bid for the first time since 2016.

Huskers coach Matt Rhule met with the media yesterday.  The Bruins offense hasn’t had much success running the football this season, but they’ve been better in the passing game.  And they may be catching NU’s pass defense at the right time for UCLA fans.

“We’re beat up,” Rhule said of his secondary. “We don’t have Malcolm (Hartzog), we potentially don’t have Tommi (Hill).  Malcolm is doing his best to get back, but I don’t think he will.  We’ll be counting on some other guys.  They’re competitive (the next players up).  Part of that is, we have a great (pass) rush, so that helps.  I think everything on defense is interrelated.”

Kickoff at Memorial Stadium tomorrow is at 2:30 p.m.  The pregame begins at 10:30 on News Talk 900 KJSK.  It will be joined at 2 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
