Nebraska and Oklahoma were long-time rivals on the football field.  But now, both schools are mourning the passing of John Blake.  He died yesterday at age 59 after suffering a heart attack while walking, according to several media reports.

Blake served as the Huskers defensive line coach from 2004-06 and was credited for recruiting several of NU’s top players.

He was the Sooners head football coach from 1996-98 and was OU’s first Black head coach in any sport.

Blake also won a pair of Super Bowl rings as the Dallas Cowboys defensive line coach.
