NU O-Line Coach Raiola Talks About Experienced Unit

Nebraska’s football team will feature an experienced offensive line in the upcoming season.

The unit’s coach, Donovan Raiola, was a guest Tuesday night on Sports Nightly aired on News Talk 900 KJSK.  Raiola, in his third year as the Huskers’ O-line coach, was asked about the qualities of center Ben Scott.

“He’s tough, physically and mentally,” Raiola said.  “He’s smart.  He can make calls, set calls and get everyone blocking the right way.  And then also, he’s more than athletic that he can move and do all those things.  And then, being able to just be strong enough in that middle to handle those big nose guards when they’re lined up head-up on him which is a tough job for any center.”

The other potential starters on NU’s offensive line include Teddy Prochazka, Turner Corcoran, Micah Mazzccua and Bryce Benhart.  There’s good depth in the offensive line too, which Raiola pointed out is important in the rugged Big Ten conference.
