NU Men Fall, Women Pull Off Upset on Sunday
The Nebraska men’s basketball team suffered a home loss, while the NU women pulled off an upset on the road yesterday.
In Lincoln, Teddy Allen scored a game-high 21 points but the Huskers were downed by Indiana 84-76. Lat Mayen added 15 points for Nebraska, which fell 0-5 in the Big Ten and 4-8 overall.
The Huskers host Illinois on Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m., with the pre-game starting at 7 on News Talk 900 KJSK.
NU’s women won at 23rd-ranked Michigan State 68-64. Kate Cain blocked a 3-point shot with five seconds left that would have tied the game and Whitney Brown followed with the clinching free throw. Isabelle Bourne scored 18 points to lead Nebraska, which improved to 6-4 overall, 4-3 in the Big Ten.
The Huskers entertain number 16 Ohio State on Saturday.
