After playing with just seven active players in last Sunday’s loss at Minnesota, Nebraska basketball coach Fred Hoiberg has added two Husker football players to his roster.  Noah Vedral and Brant Banks will be available for NU’s game against Indiana tonight in the Big Ten Tournament.

Vedral served as the Huskers’ backup quarterback last season. The 6-1 guard played four years of basketball at Bishop Neumann, helping the Cavaliers win three Class C1 state titles.

Banks is an offensive tackle who red-shirted for Nebraska as a freshman last season. The 6-foot-7, 300-pounder last played basketball as a junior for his high school in Houston.

Tipoff for tonight’s game between the Huskers and Hoosiers is set for 25 minutes after the conclusion of the tourney opener between Minnesota and Northwestern, which is estimated for 7:15 p.m. The pre-game show begins just after 6 on News Talk 900 KJSK.
