Nebraska designated hitter Leighton Banjoff used his hitting ability to earn a spot on Collegiate Baseball’s Freshman All-America Team.  The publication announced that squad on Tuesday.

Banjoff played in all 15 games for NU this year before the season was cut short due to COVID-19.  He led the Huskers with a .341 batting average.

He also paced Nebraska with three stolen bases, a 517 on-base percentage and a .636 slugging percentage.  Banjoff collected four doubles, three home runs, 13 RBI and 12 runs.

He is the 20th Husker in history to claim Freshman All-America accolades.
