North Defense Stifles South to Win Shrine Bowl

The 63rd annual Shrine Bowl turned out to be a defensive battle.  The North shut down the South 10-3 Saturday night at UNK’s Cope Stadium.

On defense, the North squad – which was coached by Lakeview’s Kurt Frenzen – posted three sacks, eight tackles for losses and one interception.

The game’s only touchdown came on a one-yard run by Blair’s Dexter Larsen to cap a 60-yard drive on the North’s opening possession.
