No Huskers, Other Nebraska Players, Go in MLB Draft

The final four rounds of a coronavirus-shortened, five-round Major League Baseball Draft were held last night.

As expected, no Huskers were selected among the 160 players taken.  That snaps a 27-year streak that at least one Nebraska player was drafted.

There were no Creighton players or prep players from the state who heard their names called either.

The Kansas City Royals used four of their six draft picks on pitchers, including Texas A&M lefty Asa Lacy with the fourth overall pick in the draft.

KC also selected Baylor shortstop Nick Loftin and Alabama outfielder Tyler Gentry.
