Nine Blackshirts Awarded Prior to Huskers First Practice in Ireland

The Nebraska football team held its first practice in Ireland yesterday.
Huskers defensive coordinator Erik Chinander says when nine defensive players arrived at the stadium, they found Blackshirts hanging in their lockers. “Hopefully, there will be a few more,” Chinander said. “The guys that got them, they deserved it, and they’ve earned those Blackshirts.”
Saturday’s kickoff for the season opener between Nebraska and Northwestern is slated for 11:30 a.m. The pregame begins at 7:30 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK. It will be joined at 11:00 on 93.5 The Hawk.
