Nebraska’s Sears Earns Second-Team All-America Honors

Nebraska ace Brett Sears was named a second-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday.

Sears’ honor is the highest by a Husker starting pitcher since 2003, when Aaron Marsden earned second-team All-America recognition from Baseball America.

Earlier this month, Sears earned first-team all-region and district player-of-the-year honors.  He went 9-1 with a 2.16 ERA for the Huskers this past season.
