Nebraska Volleyball Signs Prep Star From Hawaii

The Nebraska volleyball team has signed a fourth freshman to its 2020 class.  Keonilei Akana, a five-foot-9 defensive specialist from Hawaii, signed with the Huskers yesterday. 

Akana was named the All-Hawaii Girls Player of the Year last season as a senior. She totaled 378 kills and 403 digs on the year. 

She had 22 kills in the state title match to lead her high school to the state championship and was named the tournament’s most outstanding player.
