The state of Nebraska took another step yesterday toward having a high school football season this fall.

Wednesday was the first day the state allowed contact sports since the COVID-19 pandemic began.  If health conditions permit, the first day of fall practices will be August 10th.

All three Columbus prep football teams have their season openers slated for Friday, August 28th.  Columbus High, competing in Class A this year, opens at home against Omaha Central.  Lakeview will visit Boys Town, while Scotus is at Wahoo.

At this point, all three teams are scheduled to play a normal, nine-game regular season running through October 23rd.
