Nebraska Football Road Race, For Real, is June 20

The annual Nebraska Football Road Race will return to an in-person format this year.

The event is slated for Sunday, June 20th and features a one-mile fun run at 8 a.m. and a 5K run to follow.  Both races will start and finish on Stadium Drive on the west side of Memorial Stadium.

All of the funds generated by the event will go directly to pediatric brain cancer research at UNMC’s Buffet Cancer Center.  Nebraska football has supported the research since the 69-yard touchdown run by pediatric brain cancer patient Jack Hoffman in the 2013 Spring Game.

This year’s event will also honor Andy Hoffman, Jack’s father and co-founder of the Team Jack Foundation.  He died on March 1st at the age of 42 after his own battle with brain cancer.

Online registration for the race is open through June 15th at Huskers.com/RoadRace.
