Nebraska Football Gets Two Votes in Coaches Preseason Poll
Nebraska football is not ranked in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll – not even close.
The Huskers received just two votes in the poll that included six Big Ten teams in the Top 25 and three others that received more votes than NU. Ohio State is ranked right behind No. 1 Georgia, while new Big-Ten member Oregon is third. Michigan, which received one first-place vote, is eighth, one spot ahead of Penn State. New league team USC is 23rd and Iowa claimed the final spot in the Top 25.
Washington, in its first year in the Big Ten, topped the list of “others receiving votes” with 123. Wisconsin received 17 votes and Maryland had five, three more than Nebraska.
The Associated Press preseason college football poll will be released next Monday.
