Nebraska Football Dismisses Maurice Washington

Running back Maurice Washington has been dismissed from the Huskers football team. 

Nebraska announced the dismissal in a brief news release this afternoon and said Washington “is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal soon.” 

Washington had not played for NU since a loss to Minnesota in October. At the time, coach Scott Frost would not say why Washington was removed from the team, only that it wasn’t connected to his ongoing criminal case in California. 

In his two years in Lincoln, the sophomore gained 1,136 total yards and scored seven touchdowns in 18 games.
