Mother Nature Still Messing Up Spring Teams’ Schedules

A wintry spring continues to be a challenge for local prep sports teams’ scheduling.

The Columbus High baseball team’s game yesterday at Kearney was postponed.  No makeup date has been announced.  In boys soccer, the Discoverers match against Lincoln North Star that had originally been set as the season opener on March 16th, was pushed back again – this time until April 8th.

The Lakeview boys golf team was supposed to take on Schuyler in a dual today at Quail Run, but it has been postponed with the makeup date TBA.  Also today’s boys and girls soccer matches for the Vikings at Schuyler were scratched, with a make-up date being worked on.

The Scotus girls soccer club had its home match against Omaha Concordia last night postponed with no makeup date set.  And today, the Shamrocks track and field teams were scheduled to host the Jim Puetz Memorial meet.  Teams from Columbus High, Lakeview and other schools were scheduled to compete, but the event was canceled.
