Monday’s Results from All Three Girls State Golf Tourneys

Sarah Lasso of the Columbus High girls golf team shot an 8-over par 80 and was tied for fifth place after Monday’s first round of the Class A tournament at Norfolk Country Club. 

Two-time defending state champion Nicole Kolbas of Lincoln Pius X topped the leaderboard by three strokes after firing an even par 72.  In the team standings, the Discoverers were eighth out of 12 teams at 87-over, 50 strokes behind team leader Millard North. 

In the Class C tournament at Elks Country Club, Scotus’ Cecilia Arndt was in fourth place after carding an 11-over, 83.  Boone Central’s Taylor Beierman is also vying for a medal after shooting an 87 and being tied for 11th.  Olivia Lovegrove of Lincoln Christian fired a 2-under par 70 to lead the tourney by nine strokes.  Scotus was third in the 15-team field with a plus-91, 31 strokes behind team leader Broken Bow. 

In Monday’s Class B tourney at Monument Shadows in Gering, Lakeview’s Hannah Kitt was tied for 22nd after shooting a 19-over, 91.  Her Vikings teammate Grace Berkeland was at 37-over, 109 and tied for 49th.  Julia Karmazin of Elkhorn North led by four strokes after shooting a 1-under, 71.
