MJ Sherman’s Philosophy: “Put Your Hands Up Next Time”

Nebraska’s football team continued preparing Tuesday for its trip to Purdue.

The Huskers will be trying to get back on track Saturday with a win over the Boilermakers, following a 31-24 loss in overtime to Illinois.  Meeting with the media yesterday, the first thing linebacker MJ Sherman was asked was what he thought of his teammates’ response the last couple of days to that defeat.

“What are you supposed to do when you get punched in the mouth sometimes?  Put your hands up next time,” Sherman said.  “Learn from it.  The season ain’t over.  That wasn’t the last game.  We still have plenty of opportunities to prove who we are.  We’ve just got to own up to the tape and take advantage of it, that’s all.”

Saturday’s kickoff at Purdue is set for 11 a.m.  The pregame begins at 7 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK.  It starts at 10:30 on 93.5 The Hawk.
